7 - 8 December 2024 Planteia, Casa Cultura Ílhavo Ílhavo, Portugal
In the frame of LEME 2024.
Public performative output of the participatory circus experience by Melody Nolan & Omer van Soldt [NL/USA] and WETUMTUM [PT], with local participants. Mentored by Lali Álvarez Garriga [ES].
Last year, during our visit to the LEME festival, something caught our attention as we watched a performance in the square. From the corner of our eyes, we noticed the residents standing on their balconies, silently observing the event from above.
This year, we will bring these balconies to life. Together with the people who live in front of Casa Cultura Ílhavo square, we will weave their stories into the fabric of the festival. Their homes, their lives, and their cultures will spill into the square, as we transform the space into a living canvas, sharing the narratives and experiences held within these walls with the wider community.
Weaving Windows invites audiences to witness a unique blend of personal storytelling and public performance, creating a dialogue between private and public spaces, bridging the gap between the viewers and the performers.
